The C++ Developer role at QiCAP is a systems engineering position on the Technology & Engineering team, building the low-latency software that carries market data into our models and orders out to the exchange. It suits an engineer with two to five years of production C++ behind them who thinks in terms of cache lines, allocation behaviour, and tail latency rather than average throughput. The work is squarely on the critical path: feed handlers that decode exchange market data, order-entry paths measured in microseconds, and the execution logic that sits between a strategy's intent and the venue. You do not need prior trading experience, though familiarity with Indian market structure and exchange systems helps you contribute sooner. What matters is depth in modern C++, comfort profiling and reasoning about performance on real hardware, and the discipline that writing software which moves real money in live markets demands.
What you’ll own
- Build and optimise market-data feed handlers, order-entry paths, and execution components in modern C++
- Profile and reason about latency on real hardware — allocation behaviour, cache effects, and tail latency, not just averages
- Work with researchers and traders to turn strategy intent into correct, fast production code
- Harden the critical path against the failure modes that matter in live markets
- Contribute to the testing and instrumentation that make performance regressions visible early
What we look for
- Two to five years of production C++, with real depth in the modern standard
- Demonstrated experience profiling and optimising latency-sensitive systems
- Working knowledge of Linux, concurrency, and the hardware your code runs on
- Exposure to HFT or low-latency systems — lock-free structures, kernel bypass, order books, FIX, market-data feeds, DPDK or Solarflare, cache optimisation, SIMD — is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with Indian market rules and exchange systems, or the appetite to learn them quickly
