Senior Network Engineer / Network Architect

4–12 years · Full-time · Whitefield, Bengaluru

The Senior Network Engineer / Network Architect role at QiCAP sits on the Infrastructure team and owns the low-latency network that carries our trading systems into NSE, BSE, MCX, and US exchange venues. You will design and operate routing and switching across a spine-leaf data-centre fabric, tune cut-through switches and kernel-bypass NICs for nanosecond-level latency, and manage the firewalls, VPNs, and WAN links connecting our offices and colocation racks. Exchange colocation work is central to the role: provisioning cross-connects, coordinating remote hands, and keeping NSE, BSE, and MCX connectivity resilient under load. This is a senior, lateral-only position: we require four to twelve years of network engineering experience, strong BGP and OSPF fundamentals, and comfort with FortiGate firewalls and SD-WAN. Prior experience in trading, broking, or stock-exchange networks is a strong advantage, as is familiarity with PTP time synchronisation, microburst analysis, and the monitoring stack that keeps a live trading network observable.

What you’ll own

  • Design and operate routing and switching across the firm's spine-leaf trading-network fabric
  • Tune cut-through switches, kernel-bypass NICs, and PTP time synchronisation for nanosecond-level latency
  • Own exchange colocation connectivity — cross-connects, remote hands, and NSE/BSE/MCX links
  • Manage firewalls, VPNs, and WAN links connecting offices, data centres, and colocation racks
  • Build and maintain network monitoring, capacity planning, and incident response for a live trading network

What we look for

  • Four to twelve years of network engineering experience
  • Strong BGP and OSPF routing fundamentals, with hands-on switching — LACP, MC-LAG/MLAG, VLAN, spine-leaf
  • Experience with FortiGate NGFW, SD-WAN, and site-to-site or remote-access VPNs
  • Exposure to low-latency networking — cut-through switches, PTP, microburst analysis, or kernel-bypass NICs — is a strong advantage
  • Trading, broking, or stock-exchange network experience, including exchange colocation, is preferred
  • Automation with Python or Ansible, and certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, Fortinet NSE, or Arista ACE, are a plus
