Quant Developer

Final-year / campus · Full-time / Internship

The Quant Developer role at QiCAP is a campus-level engineering position for final-year students and recent graduates who want to build trading systems rather than arrive already knowing how to trade. No prior strategy or markets experience is expected. What is expected is unusually strong software fundamentals: data structures and algorithms, object-oriented design, databases, networking, operating systems, multithreading, and system design — the things that decide whether infrastructure holds up under load. You will work on the research and execution platform alongside engineers and quantitative researchers, and pick up market structure as you go. We look closely at what you have actually built: a substantial systems project, a strong competitive-programming record, or both. Comfort on Linux and genuine interest in low-latency systems count for more here than a polished resume, and the bar we publish on academics is a CGPA of 8.5 or above.

What you’ll own

  • Build and maintain components of the research and execution platform under the guidance of senior engineers
  • Write clear, tested code against real requirements rather than exercises
  • Learn market structure and systematic trading from the researchers and traders you work beside
  • Take ownership of a service or tool end to end as you grow into the role
  • Contribute to the tooling that keeps the platform observable and debuggable

What we look for

  • Final-year student or recent graduate with a CGPA of 8.5 or above
  • Strong fundamentals in data structures and algorithms, OOP, DBMS, networking, operating systems, multithreading, and system design
  • Proficiency in at least one of Python, C++, Java, Go, or Rust
  • Comfort working on Linux
  • A substantial systems or competitive-programming project you can talk through in depth
